Flying Star Cafe & Satellite Coffee

Background Information

I was hired by Flying Star Cafe and its sister company Satellite Coffee fresh out of college. I created an account on CareerBuilder.com and uploaded my resume at the beginning of my last semester prior to graduation. A few weeks later, I received a phone call from them and was hired after a few rounds of interviews.

As you can imagine, I was super excited as this was my first job being at a desk doing graphic design, assisting with web updates, and a lot of production work. I was hired to do what I love doing as a Graphics Production Assistant.

Below are a select group of pieces that I have designed throughout my years being employed full-time at Flying Star Cafe & Satellite Coffee. They are various marketing materials and promotional collateral designed to push the brand out into the community, promote the cafes and coffee shops, and help increase sales through visual communications.

Employment Update

December 15th was my last day after giving my two weeks notice at Flying Star Cafe & Satellite Coffee. Assisting in the opening of 5 stores between the two concepts, learning a ton of real world information about real world design, and being around some of the greatest Marketing team members I can imagine, I have to give a big Thank You to the company in which I still support for many, many reasons.

I am now employed full-time by Boomtime, a company specializing in custom and theme-based websites, gift cards, marketing, and social media for hundreds of different companies in a handful of industries. You can read more about them here.

My title is Graphic Designer and I create visuals (surprise!) for many different types of materials for our growing list of clients. I also design custom websites and themes, as well as many different in-house graphics. I make up one half of the design team and am UBER excited about my new chapter (which I see being an extremely long one) in life. Can you guess how I first heard about the job opening?… Twitter!
